Minister Asks Officials to Clear Waterlogging
Chairing a review meeting with officials at the Tekkali Mandal Parishad office on Saturday, the minister said water logging poses a serious public health risk.
Visakhapatnam: State agriculture minister K. Atchannaidu has asked the officials to clear water logging in 59 paces of Tekkali mandal immediately to prevent waterborne diseases.
Chairing a review meeting with officials at the Tekkali Mandal Parishad office on Saturday, the minister said water logging poses a serious public health risk. He warned that negligence in sanitation and drainage management would not be tolerated.
Atchannaidu instructed officials of various departments to work in a coordinated manner. He asked them to visit the identified locations, strengthen the drainage network, and complete preventive works before heavy rains come, instead of taking temporary measures after flooding occurs.
The minister ordered appointment of temporary sanitation workers wherever required, ensuring availability of necessary equipment, while monitoring the sanitation works.
