Minister Anam Assures Water to Tail-End Areas in Atmakur Segment
₹144.50 crore being spent through Rural Water supply and Panchayat Raj and departments
Nellore: Endowments minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy reiterated that repairs are being undertaken at five lift irrigation schemes in the Atmakur assembly constituency to ensure that irrigation water reaches the tail-end agricultural lands.
In addition, development projects worth ₹144.50 crore are being implemented through the Panchayat Raj and Rural Water Supply departments.
The minister explained that under Jal Jeevan Mission, works worth ₹19 crore covering 76 projects have been taken up in Atmakur mandal, while tendering is in progress for other works. Overall, ₹65 crore has been sanctioned for 336 development works in the constituency.
On Sunday, Ramnarayana Reddy went on to lay foundation stones and inaugurated a completed CC road worth ₹49 lakh from the national highway to Vasili village.
He underlined that 761 development works worth ₹50.72 crore are in progress. ₹26.90 crore have been sanctioned for laying 47 kilometres of BT roads. A ₹69.30 lakh drinking water project is being implemented in the Vasili SC Colony.
The minister pointed out that despite a financial burden of ₹1.40 lakh crore, state government is continuing its welfare and development programmes, including the Super Six schemes, NTR Bharosa social pensions and new LPG gas connections in the Atmakur constituency.
Those who accompanied Ramnarayana Reddy included revenue divisional officer Pavani, mandal revenue officer, mandal development officer, Panchayat Raj officials, and local leaders.
