Mini garbage transfer stations to enhance cleanliness in city: VMC

VIJAYAWADA: Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) commissioner H.M. Dhyanchandra has directed officials to establish mini garbage transfer stations to enhance sanitation management in the city. As part of his inspection on Thursday morning, he visited several areas, including Sambamurthy Road, Dharna Chowk, and Poornanandapet, to assess sanitation conditions on the ground.
The commissioner examined the mini garbage transfer station set up on Sambamurthy Road as part of the sanitation improvement initiative. He instructed officials to establish similar stations wherever necessary in the city. Additionally, he directed them to plan greenery around the mini garbage transfer station on Sambamurthy Road to improve aesthetics and curb pollution.
During his visit, Dhyanchandra also inspected the public toilets on Sambamurthy Road. He emphasised the need for regular monitoring and maintenance to ensure cleanliness and prevent inconvenience to the public.
At Poornanandapet, the commissioner instructed officials to keep roads free from encroachments. He urged business owners to operate within their designated areas and ordered the immediate removal of any encroachments obstructing traffic.
At Dharna Chowk, he visited the Anna Canteen for an on-site inspection. He stressed that the canteens must open on time without delays and that all allocated food tokens should be distributed efficiently.
