Heavy Rainfall Likely Across AP Till May 7: IMD
More rainy days for AP

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh will have more rainy days as the north-south trough from Marathwada to south Tamil Nadu now runs from southeast Madhya Pradesh to south interior Karnataka across Marathwada, Telangana, and north interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
A report from IMD, Amaravati, said heavy rains are likely at isolated places over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema. Gusty winds with speeds of 50-60 kmph are also likely at isolated places in the same area. The heavy rainfall will continue till May 7.
On May 8 and 9, thunderstorms accompanied with lightning are likely at isolated places over north and south coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema.
During the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday, Amalapuram in the BR Ambedkar Konaseema district received the highest rainfall of 8.5 cm, followed by Kakinada 7 cm, Tuni (Kakinada district) 4.1 cm and Gudivada (Krishna district) 4.1 cm.
In Rayalaseema, Gudur (Tirupati district) received the highest rainfall of 7.74 cm, and Chittoor town received 4 cm.
The temperature also increased marginally in Rayalaseema and parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
Kurnool recorded the highest temperature of 42.1 degrees Celsius, followed by Nandyal 42 degrees, Anantapur 41.8, Kadapa 41.3, Tirupati 39.7 and Visakhapatnam Airport 37 degrees and Visakhapatnam City 34.9 degrees.
Temperature fell by 3.8 degrees in Gannavaram, which recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius.
