Mercury in Andhra Pradesh Crosses 45 Degrees Celsius in Nandyal

Severe heatwaves are expected in 30 mandals of Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam District, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Polavaram districts.

Visakhapatnam: Temperature during the 2026 summer in AP has touched 45.1 degrees Celsius, the highest of the season, at Sanjamala in Nandyal district of the state.

It remained above 40 degrees Celsius in 215 mandals across the state, said Disaster Management Authority managing director Prakhar Jain.

On Friday, maximum temperatures of 43 degrees to 44.5 degrees are likely in Manyam, Palnadu, Prakasam, Markapuram, Nellore, and Rayalaseema districts.

Severe heatwaves are expected in 30 mandals of Srikakulam, Parvathipuram Manyam District, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Polavaram districts.

Heatwaves are likely in 55 mandals in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Manyam, Polavaram, Anakapalli, Kakinada, East Godavari, Eluru, NTR, Palnadu, Markapuram, Nandyal, and Sri Sathya Sai districts.

On Thursday, the highest temperature of 45.1 degrees has been recorded in Sanjamala (Nandyal), followed by Vontimitta (Kadapa) 44.9, Anumalapalli (Markapuram) 44.2, Mudigubba (Sri Sathya Sai) 43.5, Terannapalli (Anantapur) and Varadayyapalem (Tirupati) 43.4, Bastipadu (Kurnool) 43.2, Nooliveedu (Annamayya) and Gurazala (Palnadu) 42.1 and Kommipadu (Nellore) 42 degrees.
