Mekapati Vikram Reddy Alleges Intimidation Of YSRC Cadres During Polls
Vikram Reddy urged the police to act impartially and deploy additional forces in sensitive villages.

NELLORE: YSRC Atmakur constituency coordinator and former MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy accused the ruling TD of misusing official machinery to intimidate YSRC candidates, polling agents and voters during the MPTC and ZPTC elections in Atmakur constituency.
He alleged that endowments minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy had ensured the unopposed election of candidates in 30 of the 67 MPTC segments through irregularities and was now resorting to intimidation in the remaining 37 segments to prevent YSRC candidates from winning.
During a visit to Botikarlapadu village in Padakandla segment following reports that YSRC polling agents were being prevented from entering polling stations, Vikram Reddy alleged that a party agent had been taken into custody and confined at his residence. He said complaints had been lodged with the district collector and superintendent of police, following which additional police forces were deployed.
He also questioned the detention of YSRC leader Parlapalli Ravikumar Reddy at Atmakur police station while he was on his way to cast his vote and demanded that he be allowed to exercise his franchise.
Vikram Reddy urged the police to act impartially and deploy additional forces in sensitive villages. He said the party would pursue legal action over alleged election irregularities and fight to protect voters' democratic rights.
