Overseas Job Fraud: AP Tops Complaint List, Telangana Ranks 3rd

Kerala and Tamil Nadu stood in the second and third places, while Telangana recorded 339 complaints, placing it fourth among the states.

Vijayawada: For many Telugu families, securing a well-paying job abroad is considered a dream and a symbol of a better future. Every year, thousands of students and job seekers from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana migrate to foreign countries in search of better career opportunities.

While many candidates choose to migrate through registered overseas recruitment agencies, others rely on unregistered agents who often promise lucrative jobs. In several cases, these unregistered agents turn out to be fraudulent, leaving job seekers cheated and stranded.

According to data from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Andhra Pradesh recorded the highest number of complaints related to overseas recruitment fraud, with 1,495 cases. Kerala and Tamil Nadu stood in the second and third places while Telangana recorded 339 complaints, placing it fourth among the states.
