Mayor Inspects Urdu School, Assures Swift Development Works

Nellore Mayor Devarakonda Sujatha Ashok inspected an Urdu school in Jandaveedhi and directed officials to expedite repairs, development works and security measures.

Nellore Municipal Corporation mayor Devarakonda Sujatha Ashok on Monday inspected a water tank and the Urdu school premises in the 47th Division’s Jandaveedhi area along with corporator Ramakrishna and directed officials to take up necessary repairs and development works at the school on priority.

The mayor said the issues faced by the Urdu school would be brought to the attention of minister for municipal administration and urban development Dr P. Narayana, who was overseeing development works in schools across Nellore city. She assured that steps would be taken to expedite the works.

She also announced that CCTV cameras would be installed at the school to strengthen security and prevent outsiders from entering the premises.

Sujatha said road restoration works would be expedited in areas where underground works taken up under the mega water works project had been completed so as to minimise inconvenience to residents.

Meanwhile, the mayor and additional commissioner K. Himabindu participated in the state government’s weekly public grievance programme held at the Command Control Centre of the municipal corporation on Monday. They received petitions from citizens and assured them that the complaints would be examined at the field level and referred to the concerned departments for permanent solutions.

A total of 17 petitions were received, including six related to TIDCO housing, two to town planning, three to engineering, one to accounts, one to public health and two to APCOS.

Superintending engineer Shaik Rahantu Jani, officials and staff of various departments participated in the programme.
