Married Woman, Husband Shot At By Lover

According to Annavaram sub-inspector G. Srihari Babu, Chandraiah and Suryavathi of Veldurthi village of Gollaprolu mandal had an inter-caste marriage a few years ago and have three children.

KAKINADA: A 25-year-old married woman, Suryavathi, and her 30-year-old husband Kakuri Chandraiah sustained bullet wounds after her lover opened fire on them at Sringadhare of Pedamallapuram Panchayat in Sankhavaram mandal of Kakinada district on Sunday night.

According to Annavaram sub-inspector G. Srihari Babu, Chandraiah and Suryavathi of Veldurthi village of Gollaprolu mandal had an inter-caste marriage a few years ago and have three children. However, Suryavathi developed an illicit relationship with a man named M. Manikanta of Vathangi village in Rajavommangi mandal of ASR district. She had been staying with him at his village. Recently, she came back to her husband, who agreed to take her back. Unsettled by this turn of events, Manikanta attempted to kill the couple using a country-made gun.

Chandraiah and Suryavathi were injured and admitted to the Government General Hospital for treatment. Annavaram police registered a case and were searching for the accused.
