Mana Mitra Enables Murasu-Affected Residents To Report Emergencies

Citizens can describe the problem in their locality and upload photographs, if available, to help officials assess the situation.

VIJAYAWADA: Residents in areas affected by Cyclone Murasu can report emergencies and seek assistance through the Mana Mitra WhatsApp Governance platform, which has introduced a dedicated facility for cyclone-related grievances.

The Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) has facilitated the mechanism to enable citizens to report issues such as power outages, fallen trees, collapsed walls, waterlogging and other cyclone-related emergencies.

Residents can register complaints by sending a “Hi” message to the Mana Mitra WhatsApp number 9552300009. They must then select the Services option, choose “Murasu Cyclone Issues”, click on “Report Issue” and confirm. They should subsequently select the Registration option and enter details such as their name, district and mandal.

Citizens can describe the problem in their locality and upload photographs, if available, to help officials assess the situation.

Once registered, each grievance will be forwarded to the concerned officials in the respective area for necessary action and resolution.

RTGS officials have appealed to residents in cyclone-affected areas to use the facility to report emergencies and seek assistance. The initiative aims to improve communication between citizens and the administration, support disaster response and bring local problems to the attention of the authorities.
