Man Kills Three Children, Dies by Suicide in Nandyal District
Police said the deceased, Surendra, had been struggling since the death of his wife Maheswari, who died by suicide due to health issues in August 2025.
Anantapur: A 35-year-old man allegedly killed his three young children and died by suicide at Tudumuladinne village in Uyyalawada mandal of Nandyal district on Thursday.
Police said the deceased, Surendra, had been struggling since the death of his wife Maheswari, who died by suicide due to health issues in August 2025. Following her death, he reportedly slipped into depression and developed a dependence on alcohol.
According to the police, Surendra poisoned the food of his children—Kavyasri (7), Gnaneswari (4) and Surya Gagan (2)—leading to their deaths. He later died by suicide at his residence.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Surendra, unable to cope with emotional distress and financial responsibilities, took the extreme step while under the influence of alcohol. Police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation.
