Pydiraju allegedly picked up a stick and hit Santhosh on the head, causing his death: Police
VISAKHAPATNAM: Vizianagaram district police arrested A. Pydiraju for allegedly killing his friend U. Santhosh Kumar following an argument on the outskirts of Paradhi village in Bobbili mandal on September 9.
Police said Santhosh Kumar, 30, and Pydiraju, who worked for different private firms, had gone to the outskirts of the village and consumed alcohol. An argument over a petty issue escalated into a fight, during which Santhosh allegedly abused Pydiraju’s family members.
Pydiraju allegedly picked up a stick and hit Santhosh on the head, causing his death, police said.
Pydiraju allegedly took Santhosh’s mobile phone, removed the SIM card and threw the phone into a pond. He then allegedly tried to pass off the death as a road accident.
Police said a villager had recorded a video of the incident and handed it over to them. Based on the video, police arrested Pydiraju and produced him before the court for remand.
