Man Gets 4-Year RI For Harassing Woman, Her Daughter
The Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court in Narasannapeta convicted Tankala Shantha Rao under Sec 354-D and 509 of IPC.

Visakhapatnam: A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment (RI) and fined Rs 20,000 for indecent behavior and harassing a woman and her daughter at Piruvada village in Polaki mandal of Srikakulam district.
The Judicial First-Class Magistrate Court in Narasannapeta convicted Tankala Shantha Rao under Sec 354-D and 509 of IPC.
According to the complaint, Shantharao, who lives opposite the victim's house, subjected Parvati and her daughter to sustained harassment. The accused allegedly made obscene gestures and used abusive language.
The situation escalated on November 21, 2023, when Shantha Rao allegedly barged into the complainant's house gate at approximately 9 am and harassed her daughter as she was leaving for college.
The investigation was conducted by then Sub-Inspector V. Satyanarayana, who filed a charge sheet in the Narasannapeta court. When the accused failed to appear in court, a bailable warrant was issued. The current Sub-Inspector of Polaki, G. Ranjith, subsequently arrested Shantha Rao and produced him before the court, where Magistrate Vani pronounced the judgement.
