Kurnool: Industries and Commerce minister T.G. Bharath underlined that the state government is committed to creating an industry-friendly environment by addressing issues proactively and ensuring that investments translate into functional industries at the earliest.
Holding a review meeting with zonal and general managers at the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) office in Mangalagiri on Tuesday, he asserted that industrialists are showing keen interest in investing in Andhra Pradesh after it has come under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Industries commissioner and APIIC Managing Director Abhishek Kishore participated in the session. The meeting focused on projects approved by the previous State Investment Promotion Board meetings. The discussions focused on the present status of each project district-wise.
Speaking after the review meeting, Minister Bharath emphasised that there should be no delays in granting permissions for setting up industries in the state. He instructed officials to maintain continuous communication with company representatives to ensure the projects are progressing smoothly. He assured that the government will fully support investments and resolve problems coming in the way of establishing or maintaining industrial parks.
Bharath directed officials to hold District Investment Promotion Committee (DIPC) meetings regularly to review progress at the local level and bring any field difficulties to his immediate notice. He emphasized the need to monitor projects where land has already been allotted but work has not yet started.
The minister made it clear to officials that if projects fail to show progress even after repeated discussions, such land allocations should be cancelled. He made it clear to officials to ensure that lands earmarked for industries must not be diverted for other purposes.
