MAA-AP Launches Anti-Drug Campaign
The filmmaker also appealed to students, particularly those pursuing engineering and medical courses, to alert the authorities if they come across anyone secretly supplying drugs near educational institutions. Such vigilance, he said, would help build a safer society.

Vijayawada: Expressing concern over the growing menace of drug abuse among youth, the Movie Artists Association-Andhra Pradesh (MAA-AP) has announced a major visual awareness campaign to educate people about the harmful effects of narcotics.
Film director and MAA-AP founder Dileep Raja said the association would wage a "visual battle" against drugs through social media and other digital platforms.
He said the campaign would feature film actors and artistes highlighting the health risks associated with drug abuse and its devastating impact on individuals, families and society. The initiative also aims to encourage people struggling with addiction to seek rehabilitation and recovery.
Dileep Raja said MAA-AP has been sharing expert guidance and counselling messages from neurologists and mental health specialists on social media to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and ways to overcome addiction.
Calling upon college and university students to stay away from narcotics, he urged them to emerge as a "drug-free generation" and protect their future. He said young people should recognise their responsibility towards society and resist the lure of drugs.
The filmmaker also appealed to students, particularly those pursuing engineering and medical courses, to alert the authorities if they come across anyone secretly supplying drugs near educational institutions. Such vigilance, he said, would help build a safer society.
Actors Yashwanth Chandra, Sai Sridhar Sharma and Mallepadu Ramesh attended the meeting and extended their support to the campaign.
