Low-Pressure Area Likely Over Andaman Sea By Oct. 13

The system is likely to intensify into a depression by October 15 over the southern Bay of Bengal: APSDMA

VISAKHAPATNAM: A low-pressure area is likely to form over the Andaman Sea by October 13 under the influence of a surface circulation expected to develop over the North Andaman Sea on October 12, the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) said on Friday.

According to the APSDMA, the system is likely to intensify into a depression by October 15 over the southern Bay of Bengal and adjoining central Bay of Bengal. However, the weather agency said there was still considerable uncertainty, and greater clarity would emerge over the coming days.

Meanwhile, isolated thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rain are likely in Alluri Sitarama Raju and Polavaram districts on Saturday, while other coastal districts may receive scattered light rain accompanied by thunderstorms, the APSDMA said.

The authority advised people to remain alert during thunderstorms and follow official weather updates.
