Lokesh Wants Students To Choose Challenging Paths, Become Job Creators

Lokesh advised students not to choose the easiest path in life, saying lasting success comes to those who have the courage to take difficult and unconventional routes. He called upon graduates to adopt values in their personal and professional lives.

Anantapur: Education, IT and electronics minister Nara Lokesh on Wednesday asked graduating students of Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) to become job creators, rather than job seekers; saying Andhra Pradesh is positioning itself as a hub for innovation, manufacturing, and technology under the Swarna Andhra 2047 vision.

Addressing the first convocation of CUAP in Anantapur, Lokesh said the state's development strategy has been aligned with the centre's initiatives, including the National Education Policy, Digital India, Startup India, and Viksit Bharat 2047 vision.

He told students that they represented a generation that would shape the future. He urged them not to allow their backgrounds to define their destiny, but to rely on their dreams, hard work, and character.

Highlighting President Droupadi Murmu's journey from a tribal village to the country's highest constitutional office, the minister said her life is an inspiration for young Indians. It demonstrates that courage, rather than one's beginnings, determines success.

Addressing the convocation, AP Governor S. Abdul Nazeer said the Central University of Andhra Pradesh holds a special place for people of the state, as it has been established following the commitment made by the centre after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Nazeer said the Rayalaseema region, where the university had been established in 2018, had immense historical significance. It had been part of the Vijayanagara Empire under Sri Krishnadevaraya and known for its mineral wealth, sericulture, and horticulture.

The Governor disclosed that the university is planning to offer demand-driven multidisciplinary courses with a focus on experiential learning through vocational programmes in collaboration with industry.

Others who attended the convocation include AP finance minister Payyavula Keshav, University chancellor Dr Shankar Acharya and vice-chancellor Prof. S.A. Kori.
