Lokesh to Lead Tech-Led Organisational Overhaul in Telugu Desam

Lokesh said the party would act firmly against those who filed false cases against TD workers and others in the past.

Tirupati:Education minister Nara Lokesh, as the newly named working president of the Telugu Desam, would adopt technology-based monitoring to strengthen the ruling party’s organisational structure.

Addressing party workers in Chandragiri on Wednesday, Lokesh said he considered the new responsibility “a matter of fortune” and assured partymen that he would work hard to strengthen the party at all levels. He thanked party workers for their support and said he would keep up the trust they placed in him.

The minister said the party has introduced a mobile app to track the performance and contributions of workers. “Those who actively work for the party would be identified and given appropriate positions. Similarly, individuals from grassroots levels have already been inducted into key decision-making bodies,” he said.

Lokesh said the party would act firmly against those who filed false cases against TD workers and others in the past. Referring to a recent incident involving an attack on devotees, Lokesh said strict action would be taken against those involved.

Highlighting the role of cadre, Lokesh said the TD has always placed workers at the centre of its functioning. Measures have been taken for their welfare, including insurance support. Efforts, he said, are under way to withdraw the cases registered during the YSRC period. “Pending financial dues left behind by the previous government are also being cleared in phases.”

The working president acknowledged that “differences are natural in a large political organisation but unity is important.”
