Lokesh Seeks Master Plan for Mangalagiri Temple Development

Lokesh received petitions from the public and interacted with devotees.

Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh has asked officials to prepare a aster plan for development of the historic Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Mangalagiri, with emphasis on pilgrim amenities and preserving the shrine’s architectural and religious heritage.

The minister made the call after launching the temple restoration and infrastructure works with Rs 6.3 crore from the endowments fund. He laid the foundation for a new Yagasala, reconstruction of the Vahana Mandapam and Ghanta Mandapam and restoration of the historic Sri Krishnadevaraya Mandapam.

He also unveiled a commemorative plaque and reviewed architectural models of the proposed works.

Lokesh was accorded a traditional Purna Kumbha welcome by temple priests and officials. He offered special prayers to Lord Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy and Goddess Rajyalakshmi, following which the priests gave him teertha prasadam and blessings.

The minister advised officials to execute the development works in accordance with temple traditions without causing inconvenience to devotees. He stressed the need to ensure uninterrupted darshan and regular distribution of nitya prasadam. He also inspected the temple Pushkarini and suggested measures for its improvement.

Ramachandra Mohan, temple executive officer Koganti Sunil Kumar, members of the temple trust board, Padmasali welfare and development corporation chairman Nandam Abbaddiah, APMSIDC chairman Chillapalli Srinivasa Rao, TTD board member Tammishetty Janaki Devi, Telugu Desam leaders and local representatives attended the programme.
