Lokesh Releases APECET 2026 Results, Pass Percentage Declines

Anantapur: Education minister N. Lokesh virtually released the results of Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test (APECET) 2026 on Friday.
Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University-Anantapur, on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, had conducted the APECET on April 23.
Officials said the overall pass percentage is 91.72 per cent. The Hyderabad centre recorded the highest pass percentage at 97.17 per cent, while Visakhapatnam and Kakinada registered 93.30 per cent each.
Anantapur district recorded a pass percentage of 90.60 per cent, with 2,063 candidates qualifying out of 2,277 who appeared for the examination. Sri Sathya Sai district registered a pass percentage of 91.33 per cent.
The examination had been conducted in two sessions across 14 streams for diploma holders and B. Sc. Mathematics graduates seeking lateral entry admissions into second-year engineering and pharmacy courses.
JNTU-A vice-chancellor Prof. Sudarshan Rao said 33,751 candidates had registered for the examination of whom 32,434 appeared and 29,750 qualified from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The attendance percentage had been 96.09 per cent.
Prof. Sudarshan Rao said the overall pass percentage has declined marginally from 93.26 per cent last year to 91.72 per cent this year.
University authorities stated that preliminary answer keys had been released immediately after the examination and objections had been invited till April 29. After scrutiny by an expert key verification committee, final answer keys had been prepared and the results processed accordingly.
