Lokesh Promises AP’s Expertise to Delhi on Industrial, Smart Governance
Sirsa also praised Lokesh for the transparent recruitment of more than 16,000 teachers through the Mega DSC. He said teacher recruitment in Delhi often got entangled in court cases and complaints.

Vijayawada: Education Minister Nara Lokesh on Tuesday offered Andhra Pradesh’s expertise in industrial development, data-driven governance and transparent recruitment to the Delhi state government.
Delhi’s industries minister Sardar Manjinder Singh Sirsa who led a government delegation studying AP’s industrial policies and governance reforms, met Lokesh and industries Minister TG Bharat at the Real Time Governance Society in the secretariat.
Lokesh said AP has emerged as an attractive investment destination, securing $18 billion in investments in the 2026 financial year. Some 25 per cent of the investments attracted by India came to Andhra Pradesh during this period, he said.
The state, he said, is pursuing cluster-based industrial development in line with the chief minister’s vision. “Some 22 specialised clusters are being developed in sectors including electronics, data centres, shipbuilding, semiconductors, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, defence and drones,” he explained.
Lokesh said Amaravati, Tirupati and Visakhapatnam were being developed as separate economic zones. A 300-acre Drone City was being established in Kurnool, while the recently inaugurated Bhogapuram international airport would provide a “major boost” to north Andhra’s development.
Explaining AP’s Data Lake initiative, he said data from all government departments was being integrated and analysed continuously to strengthen smart and transparent governance. The government was also monitoring departmental performance, collecting public feedback and ranking the performance of officials from ministers to lower-level employees, he said.
Minister Sirsa praised AP’s industrial policy and governance model, saying Delhi has much to learn from the state in attracting investments, public-private partnerships and data-driven governance. Describing Amaravati’s construction as “truly remarkable”, he said the capital would become one of the world’s great cities.
Calling chief minister Chandrababu Naidu a “university” in development and governance, Sirsa jokingly asked Lokesh to give the Delhi government “admission” to the AP government’s university. He sought AP’s help in implementing smart governance and investment promotion initiatives in Delhi and requested that an AP team visit the national capital to brief its officials there.
Sirsa also praised Lokesh for the transparent recruitment of more than 16,000 teachers through the Mega DSC. He said teacher recruitment in Delhi often got entangled in court cases and complaints.
Lokesh said over 3,000 more teachers would be recruited soon. Some 1.10 lakh students had shifted from private to government schools, while the Leap app was helping monitor teachers and education department activities.
The AP minister assured the Delhi government of full cooperation.
