The Air Trunk entered India officially in April and has some projects in Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad and it took over nearly 600mw capacity data centre platforms.

Vijayawada: IT Minister N. Lokesh called on the Australian Data Centre Air Trunk’s chief executive officer Robin Khuda in Mumbai on Monday and urged him to set up a campus of the firm in Visakhapatnam.
Lokesh explained how Visakhapatnam was emerging as a major hub for AI and Data Hyperscale Centre and told him about the progress of setting up of several major projects like Google’s AI Hub, Reliance AI Data Centre, Adani Connex.
The minister said Visakhapatnam had all the requisite amenities to establish the data centres. “We are aiming to set up 6 giga watts capacity data centres in Visakhapatnam,” he said, and noted that the government would provide basic amenities for multi-giga watt AI and for establishing a complete eco-system for developing such facilities.
Lokesh said Visakhapatnam has connectivity and basic amenities that no other city in the country has at present. He noted that they were establishing renewable energy projects for the data centres.
AP, he hoped, would become a major destination for the Air Trunk.
In response, Air Trunk’s CEO Robin Khuda promised to examine AP’s call to set up their future Data Centre campus in Visakhapatnam. He also dwelt at length on Air Trunk’s plans in India like investments, road map for expansion, key customer service and the requirements for Data Hyperscale Centre.
Lokesh had met Air Trunk’s CEO for the first time during his visit to Australia some time ago. Subsequently, the firm’s delegation held a series of talks with AP officials as part of the firm’s plans for expansion in India.
