Lokesh in South Korea From Today to Firm Up Ties, Attract Investments

Lokesh will begin his visit on Sunday, July 5, by interacting with members of the Indian diaspora in Seoul and addressing the Indian and Telugu communities.

Vijayawada:Minister for education, information technology and electronics Nara Lokesh is undertaking a week-long official visit to the Republic of Korea from July 5 to July 11 to strengthen bilateral cooperation and attract investments into Andhra Pradesh.

According to an official media release, the visit, at the invitation of the South Korean government, is aimed at enhancing India-South Korea relations and promoting collaboration across key sectors. According to South Korean Consul General in Chennai Chang Nyun Kim, the visit would involve official engagements with representatives of various Korean ministries to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

Lokesh will begin his visit on Sunday, July 5, by interacting with members of the Indian diaspora in Seoul and addressing the Indian and Telugu communities. On July 6, he will participate in a round-table meeting with South Korean technology start-ups and hold investment discussions with several companies. He is scheduled to meet Hyosung Heavy Industries Association president Takeshi Yokota and Seoul Semiconductors vice-president Taehyung Lee.

On July 7, the AP minister will attend a dinner hosted at LG Towers by Yoon Joo Koh, president of the LG Chem Global Strategy Centre and head of LG Overseas Companies. Senior representatives of various LG Group companies are expected to attend the interaction.

On July 8, Lokesh will participate in a round-table meeting with representatives of the Korean Marine Equipment Association. The following day, he will meet deputy minister for political affairs Yuui-Hee Cecilia Chung and Deputy Minister for International Trade and Investments Kanchan Kang.

The final day of the visit on July 10 will focus on investment promotion. The AP minister will hold discussions with representatives of several companies and participate in a round-table meeting with the Korea Auto Industry Cooperation Agency. He will later take part in a road show, inviting Korean companies to participate in the CII Partnership Summit – 2026 and explore investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh.
