Lokesh Hears Public Grievances on 90th Day of Praja Darbar

They requested immediate intervention to ensure the project is taken up at the earliest.

Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh conducted his 90th Praja Darbar at the Telugu Desam central office in Mangalagiri on Tuesday, receiving representations on a range of public issues and promising active government support in resolving them.

Representatives of the Varikapudisela water resources protection committee urged the minister to expedite the commencement of construction works for the Varikapudisela Lift Irrigation Project, describing it as a vital irrigation project for farmers in Palnadu district. They requested immediate intervention to ensure the project is taken up at the earliest.

A group of 1,056 yoga instructors, who complained of “irregularities” in the Buddha Yoga Foundation, sought justice from the minister. They pleaded for recognition of their services over the past three years and suitable steps to safeguard their future. The instructors urged the government to continue yoga-related services under official supervision.

Victims of alleged gold loan irregularities at a Bank of Baroda branch in Jangareddygudem of Eluru district submitted a petition seeking a comprehensive investigation. They alleged discrepancies in weight and handling of the gold ornaments pledged with the bank and sought legal action against the errant.

Representatives of AP MRPS called on the minister to plead for the start of a ‘direct cash transfer scheme’ for the healthcare of poor pregnant women and women’s police stations in every assembly constituency.

N Mallikarjuna Naidu of Venkatadripalem village in Yerragondapalem mandal of Prakasam district sought funds for comprehensive development of the gram panchayat. He proposed the construction of roads and a bridge across Gandivagu to improve connectivity and infrastructure in the area.

Lokesh assured the delegations that their representations would be examined and efforts would be made to address the issues through the appropriate government departments.
