Lokesh Announces 2,000 More House Pattas for Poor in Mangalagiri

Nara Lokesh asked officials to swiftly complete 31 community halls, 26 parks and crematoriums planned with funds from the state government as well as money contributed by industries as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.

Vijayawada: Education minister Nara Lokesh has announced plans to allocate by August permanent house pattas or title deeds to an additional 2,000 families residing in government lands within Mangalagiri.

Participating in a review meeting at his residence in Undavalli on Wednesday, Lokesh emphasised the state government’s commitment to develop Mangalagiri constituency.

"I am proud to say that we previously issued about 3,000 house pattas worth around ₹1,000 crore. We are now taking steps to provide an additional 2,000 pattas by August," he underlined. In this regard, he directed officials to acquire land for housing colonies to be built for the homeless by the Andhra Pradesh Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDCO).

"This will significantly enhance the living standards and community facilities in Mangalagiri," he explained.

Regarding development of public facilities, Lokesh pointed out that a retaining wall is being constructed in the Mahanadu Colony aimed at preventing floods. A model library being constructed near the Mangalagiri Temple is nearing completion. He urged authorities to complete the prestigious Nidamarrru reconstruction project by September. As part of it, a ₹2 crore fish market will be constructed on the Nidamarrru Road, along with other infrastructure including flower and fruit markets to boost the local economy. He also initiated discussions regarding establishment of a Gems and Jewellery Park.

The minister said they are planning to transform the Mangalagiri Eco Park into an Adventure Park to attract visitors from beyond the region. He issued directives to ensure roads without potholes, better management of traffic and a comprehensive focus on street lighting.

Those present at the review meeting included Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Municipal Corporation commissioner Haleem Basha, Endowments commissioner Ramachandra Mohan, MTMC superintending engineer Srinivasa Rao, deputy city planner Ashok and deputy commissioner Srikanth.
