Lingamaneni Files RS Seat Nomination as Jana Sena Candidate

Ramesh promised to work tirelessly in the Rajya Sabha to safeguard Andhra Pradesh’s interests and raise the state’s public issues at the national level

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena nominee Lingamaneni Ramesh on Saturday filed his nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha elections as the Jana Sena candidate and submitted them to returning officer Vanitha Rani at the AP Legislative Assembly on Saturday afternoon.

Minister Kollu Ravindra, Jana Sena Party (JSP) general secretary and MLC Nagababu, and MLAs Nakka Anand Babu and N. Eswara Rao accompanied Lingamaneni.

Legislators who have proposed his candidature include Pulaparthi Ramanjaneyulu, Bolisetti Srinivas, Bommidi Nayakar, Vamsikrishna Srinivas, Deva Varaprasad, Nadendla Manohar, and Kagita Krishna Prasad.

On the occasion, Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, MPs V. Balashowry, and T. Uday Srinivas, Legislative Council whip Pidugu Hariprasad, and MLAs Prathipati Pulla Rao and Giddi Satyanarayana, among others, congratulated the candidate for receiving the party nomination.

Earlier in the day, Jana Sena president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan handed over the party’s B-Form to Lingamaneni at the party’s central office in Mangalagiri and conveyed his best wishes for the election.

Speaking to the media after filing the nomination, the JS candidate expressed gratitude to Pawan Kalyan for reposing faith in him and offering him the opportunity to represent the party in the Rajya Sabha. He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for supporting his candidature.

Jana Sena general secretary Nagababu described Lingamaneni as the “right person” for the Upper House. He said party cadres are delighted with the leadership’s choice for the Rajya Sabha.
