Life in AP Marred by Political Violence: Jagan Reddy

Vijayawada: Former chief minister and YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed grave concern over the “lawlessness and political violence” across AP over the past two months.

He stated on social media, "It is with grave concern that we address the current state of governance. Andhra Pradesh has become synonymous with political violence and the situation shows no signs of improvement.”

“Daily incidents of politically motivated violence encouraged by the ruling party leaders are becoming the norm. The murder in Nandyal district last night and the attack in Jaggaiahpet, NTR district, are examples. To silence any dissent and prevent public protests, the Telugu Desam leaders and workers are resorting to intimidation and violence,” he said.

The YSRC chief said his party would stand in solidarity with the victims of these ‘atrocities’ and pledged to continue the party’s fight against this ‘oppressive regime’. “We urge the people of Andhra Pradesh to join us in condemning these acts of violence and to demand accountability from those in power,” Jagan Reddy added.
