LIC Allotted Land in Amaravati; 18 Farmers Get 28 Returnable Plots
The LIC project is classified under economic development and is expected to strengthen Amaravati’s commercial infrastructure.
Vijayawada:The AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) has allotted land to the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in Amaravati for starting its regional office and accommodating its staff. Further, the authority has allotted 28 returnable plots to 18 farmers.
Authorities organised an e-lottery at APCRDA commissioner’s office at Rayapudi on Friday and allotted 19 residential and nine commercial plots to farmers of Penumaka, who had contributed their lands for the Amaravati capital. Further, alternative plots have been allotted to eligible farmers whose plots have been affected by road widening, litigation, or land acquisition, besides those who have recently contributed lands for the capital.
Additional commissioner Kollabattula Karthik has advised farmers who have been allotted plots to complete registration of their plots. GIS personnel and village surveyors will help the allottees locate their plots.
APCRDA allotted 0.40 acres of land at Uddandarayunipalem to LIC on a freehold basis under the Amaravati Land Allotment Rules, 2017. The allotment comes after LIC proposed to establish its office complex and officers’ quarters in Amaravati. The LIC office, with a carpet area of 11,000 square metres, is expected to create employment for around 1,250 people.
