The announcement was made after Madhav unveiled Vajpayee’s statue at Lakshmipuram Junction

Vijayawada: BJP state president P.V.N. Madhav on Sunday announced that Lakshmipuram Circle in Guntur will be renamed Vajpayee Circle, in honour of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The announcement was made after Madhav unveiled Vajpayee’s statue at Lakshmipuram Junction, in the presence of Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi, Mayor Kovelamudi Ravindra, Jana Sena Guntur district president Gade Venkateswara Rao, TD Guntur district president Pilli Manikya Rao, Bonaboyina Srinivas Yadav, Atal–Modi Good Governance Yatra state convener Nagothu Ramesh Naidu and BJP state chief spokesperson Valluru Jayaprakash.

Addressing the media, Madhav described Vajpayee as a spotless and inspirational leader who practised inclusive politics and united parties with differing ideologies. He said Vajpayee’s tenure laid a strong foundation for national development, ushered in a telecom revolution and introduced modern technology whose benefits continue to be felt. His leadership, poetry and statesmanship, Madhav said, remain a source of inspiration for the youth.

Galla Madhavi said Vajpayee was a rare statesman who combined firm decisions on national security, particularly during the Kargil conflict, with sustained efforts for peace and harmony. Mayor Kovelamudi Ravindra said the statue would help educate future generations about Vajpayee’s life and ideals, and urged political leaders to emulate his values.
