Lakshmi Durga Elected Parents’ Committee Chairperson for Third Term
Students, teachers, and parents said the school has improved during her tenure.

Kakinada:Yalla Lakshmi Durga has been unanimously elected chairperson of the Parents Committee of Zilla Parishad High School at Sahapuram in Pedapudi mandal of Kakinada district for the third time, despite not being in favour of continuing in the post.
School committee members unanimously elected her for the present term. Students, teachers, and parents said the school has improved during her tenure.
The school had earlier faced problems, including disputes between two political groups over Parents Committee meetings. Teachers and students faced difficulties when the school premises got flooded during rains, disrupting classes. Students complained about the quality of midday meals and some used to return home for food.
However, after Lakshmi Durga, a Jana Sena activist, took charge as Parents Committee chairperson, facilities at the school have improved, including the quality of midday meals. Lakshmi Durga has pointed out that the government is supplying quality rice for meals. Students are now staying at school for midday meals, instead of returning home.
Teachers have been cooperating in improving the school, giving individual attention to students in their studies. The Parents’ Committee is felicitating teachers every year, thanking them for their hard work. All members of the committee are also cooperating in developing the school.
Lakshmi Durga said she is steadfastly committed to development of the ZP school and sought everyone’s cooperation.
