Former MLA Dasari Balavardhan Rao took charge as chairman of Krishna Milk Union (Vijaya Dairy), promising to work for farmers and strengthen the cooperative.
Former MLA Dasari Balavardhan Rao formally took charge as chairman of the Krishna Milk Union (Vijaya Dairy) on Tuesday and thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for entrusting him with the responsibility.
Rao said the appointment was a matter of pride and pledged to uphold the confidence placed in him by the cooperative. Recalling his earlier tenure as a director of the Union in 2013, he said taking charge as chairman was a significant moment.
He said he would discharge his duties with commitment and safeguard the Union’s reputation. Stressing collective decision-making, Rao said members of the governing body, feed committee and trust committee would work together, discuss issues and arrive at decisions.
Rao said milk prices had been raised after consultations with the board to improve the financial condition of farmers. He urged farmers to bring their other difficulties to the Union’s notice and said efforts would be made to resolve them.
Highlighting the challenges faced by rural farmers, including a shortage of green fodder for cattle, he said efforts would be made to address such issues. He said the Union would be taken forward with the cooperation of its staff and in a manner that earned the appreciation of all stakeholders.
