Krishna district Police Crack Down on Illicit Liquor Units via Drone Surveillance
Upon identifying suspicious activity, local police teams are alerted immediately to conduct swift raids.

Vijayawada:In a determined bid to eradicate the menace of illicit liquor brewing, the Krishna district police have intensified their drive against country liquor dens, with support from drone cameras that kept a constant vigil over remote and inaccessible areas.
SP Vidyasagar has issued instructions to the police to ensure that no illegal country liquor manufacturing unit operated anywhere in the district. Stringent action would be taken against those involved in brewing, assisting, or transporting illicit liquor, “which poses a grave threat to public health,” he said.
As part of the heightened surveillance, police have been deploying drone cameras — described as “hawk eyes” — to scan interior and marshy regions where offenders attempt to operate discreetly. Upon identifying suspicious activity, local police teams are alerted immediately to conduct swift raids.
On Tuesday, drone surveillance helped in the detection of illegal brewing activity in the mangrove forests of Nidamarru village under the limits of Kruthivennu PS. Acting promptly on the information, a police team travelled by boat to reach the roadless site. The accused fled the scene.
Police seized 40 litres of illicit liquor, plastic drums and equipment used in brewing. They destroyed over 1,000 litres of fermented jaggery wash.
The SP said continuous raids would be conducted even in remote areas.
