Krishna District: Tortured by Husband, Married Woman Dies By Suicide

In a heart-wrenching incident, a married woman ended her life unable to bear the harassment by her husband at Kalavapamula village in Uyyuru mandal, Krishna district.

In a suicide note left behind, she expressed dismay over her inability to tie the rakhi to him this year. She also blamed her in-laws for her husband's harsh behavior. The victim, Sri Vidya, 24, working as a lecturer in a private college, got married to Rambabu, village surveyor in Kalavapamula in Uyyur mandal, six months ago. She alleged that Rambabu began torturing her after one month of their marriage. Every night, he came drunk and beat Vidya.

Sri Vidya also mentioned that Rambabu slammed her head to the bed and thrashed her on the back when she complained that Rambabu was treating her worthless and insulting her, to a girl. She urged her family members not to leave her husband and his family members unpunished for harassing her.
