Konaseema Authorities to Develop 105 Pushkar Ghats in the District

Kakinada: Konaseema collector R. Mahesh Kumar on Friday announced that 105 Pushkar ghats will be developed in Konaseema district at a cost of ₹39.50 lakh, while proposals worth ₹13.70 crore have been prepared for uninterrupted power supply, including installation of electric poles and transmission infrastructure.
Reviewing the preparations for the Godavari Maha Pushkaralu – 2027 at Amalapuram, the collector directed officials of all departments to work in close coordination and expedite infrastructure works. He said the number of devotees is likely to increase significantly compared to the previous Pushkaralu. He called for advance planning to avoid any lapses. He said the primary objective should be to ensure a safe environment for devotees at the Pushkar ghats.
Mahesh Kumar directed officials to prepare department-wise action plans covering ghat construction, roads, electricity, drinking water, sanitation, medical services, transport, security, and parking.
The collector directed officials to provide various infrastructure facilities at temples including Adurru, Kotipalli, Yanam, Antarvedi, and Appanapalli. He said proposals worth ₹10 crore have been prepared for fire services in view of the Pushkaralu.
Electricity officials informed Mahesh Kumar that tenders have been invited for three substations at Narsipudi in Alamuru mandal, Gudimallanka in Malikipuram mandal, and Manepalli in P. Gannavaram mandal.
Those who attended the review meeting included joint collector Waikhom Nyida Devi and additional superintendent of police Mahendra Mathe, apart from heads of all stakeholder departments.
