Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam Performed At Tirumala

TIRUPATI: TTD organised on Tuesday the Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, the traditional cleansing ritual performed ahead of major festivals at the Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala. The ritual, as per Agama traditions, started at 6 a.m. and concluded at 10 a.m.
As part of the cleansing ritual, Tirumala priests covered the presiding deity of Lord Venkateswara with a cloth. Priests then cleaned the sanctum sanctorum, sub-temples, walls, ceilings, corridors, golden entrance, prasadam counters, and puja articles.
Priests prepared a fragrant mixture of turmeric, sandalwood powder, camphor, pachai karpuram, kumkum, and other aromatic substances mixed with holy water and sprinkled it across the temple premises as part of the purification process.

Additional executive officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary said arrangements for Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara from September 15 to September 23 have been completed. He pointed out that Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam is traditionally performed before major festivals, including Brahmotsavams, Ugadi, Anivara Asthanam, and Vaikunta Ekadasi.
The Brahmotsavams will begin with Dwajarohanam on September 15th evening. The nine-day events will feature daily processions of Lord Malayappa Swamy on various vahanams, including Pedda Sesha, Chinna Sesha, Hamsa, Simha, Garuda, Swarna Ratham, Rathotsavam, and Ashwa Vahanam. The festival will conclude on September 23 with Chakrasnanam in the morning and Dwajavarohanam at night.
Those who participated in the Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam included TTD chairman B.R. Naidu, CVSO K.V. Murali Krishna, district collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, SP L. Subba Rayudu, TTD trust board members, and other officials.
