Srikakulam’s Malla Rama Gopal Naidu awarded Kirti Chakra for valour at LoC; President honours hero for neutralising terrorists in Kupwara operation.

Visakhapatnam: Malla Rama Gopal Naidu, a native of Nagiripenta village in Srikakulam district, has been honoured with the prestigious Kirti Chakra for his exceptional bravery at the Line of Control (LOC) in Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir. President Droupadi Murmu presented the award at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday, recognising his heroic actions in neutralising two terrorists while defending his troops on October 26, 2023.

Naidu’s journey is one of perseverance and unwavering dedication. Born into a modest farming family in Santhabommali mandal, he was raised by his father, Appalanaidu, a small-scale farmer, and his mother, Hemamalini, who managed their home. From a young age, he harboured a deep passion for serving the nation.
His dream took shape at Sainik School in Korukonda, Vizianagaram, where he completed his secondary education, laying the foundation for his distinguished military career. His story stands as a testament to courage and determination in the face of adversity.
