Kannababu Takes Out Bike Rally Over DSC Recruitment 'Irregularities'
YSRC leaders led by former minister Kurasala Kannababu held rallies in Kakinada and Rajamahendravaram, demanding a CBI probe into alleged DSC recruitment irregularities and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
YSRC’s North Andhra districts coordinator and former minister Kurasala Kannababu, along with party activists, took out a bike rally from Turangi in Kakinada Rural mandal to Karapa on Monday, demanding a CBI probe into alleged irregularities in DSC recruitment.
Kannababu sought resignation of education minister Nara Lokesh, holding him responsible for the alleged irregularities.
He called upon the government to release fee reimbursement arrears to colleges and provide a monthly stipend of `3,000 to unemployed youth.
YSRC cadres led by former minister and YSRC East Godavari district president Srinivasa Venu Gopalakrishna and party Rajamahendravaram Parliament constituency in-charge Guduri Srinivas also took out a rally in Rajamahendravaram.
Venu Gopalakrishna said the non-release of fee reimbursement arrears had made it difficult for parents to send their children to colleges, as college managements were putting pressure on them to pay fees. He alleged that some students had died by suicide after being unable to bear the pressure from college managements and urged the government to obtain Intelligence reports and take appropriate steps.
Meanwhile, Rajanagaram former MLA Jakkampudi Raja was placed under house arrest by police on Sunday to prevent him from participating in YSRC agitation programmes over alleged DSC irregularities and the demand for Lokesh’s resignation.
Raja criticised the alliance government, alleging that Lokesh was obstructing rallies and other forms of agitation by the YSRC. He alleged that the CM was trying to protect his son over the alleged DSC irregularities.
He also alleged that the alliance government was trying to suppress the YSRC protests, fearing a defeat in the 2029 elections, and demanded the release of `9,000 crore in fee reimbursement arrears.
YSRC Amalapuram observer Jakkampudi Vijayalakshmi alleged that the alliance parties had realised that they would face defeat in the next polls.
Meanwhile, Ramachandrapuram and Mandapeta police officials said the YSRC had not been given the permission to conduct rallies or processions.
