Kadapa turns yellow as TDP gears up for swachh mahanadu mega event

Anantapur: Kadapa city and specially the connecting roads leading to the Mahanadu venue are adorned with yellow arches, party flags, flexes and banners, creating a festive atmosphere in the run-up to the ruling Telugu Desam’s mega show.
Labour minister Vasamsetty Subhash said the party was firm on conducting the mega event as ‘Swatcha Mahanadu’ by following all norms of a public gathering. The team of ministers led by Subhash, Atchennaidu and Rama Naidu and other leaders wore jackets and inspected the arrangements on Monday.
Chief minister and TD president N Chandrababu Naidu arrived at Kadapa airport around 7.35pm and motored down to the Mahanadu venue. TD politburo member Srinvasulu Reddy and others welcomed him at the airport.

TDP leader and Swachh Andhra Corporation chairman Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram stated that around 20 committees have been monitoring the arrangements. Approximately 50,000 delegates are expected for the event. “The Mahanadu is being organised as a Swachh Mahanadu and a Zero-Waste Event, with the use of environment-friendly materials.
Naidu and Nara Lokesh held extensive discussions with senior party leaders regarding the resolutions. These would focus on issues such as the damage caused to the state during the YSRC term, the current government’s development programmes, the organisational strengthening of the TD and initiatives for youth and women.
TD leaders from Rayalaseema are hopeful that major announcements would be made for faster development of the region including on the proposed steel plant in Kadapa district. They say the party has historically championed Rayalaseema’s development.
TD state president Palla Srinivasa Rao said the Mahanadu would showcase the greatness of Kadapa to the world.
Tight security: More than 5000 cops including 10 SPs have been deputed to Kadapa for the three-day event. At least 28 parking places were set up including the one closer to the main stage at Sabbavaram in CK Dinne mandal in Kadapa district and at other points.
Ministers BC Janardhan Reddy, Ramprasad Reddy and G Ravikumar have directed the RTC, the police etc to ensure that all the vehicles reach the venue by noon on Thursday for the public meeting.
Meanwhile, two VRAs suffered injuries in the collapse of a huge flex board amid gusty winds in Kadapa on Monday evening. They were shifted to RIMs hospital.
