Jana Sena Targets Clean Sweep in Local Body Polls

Vijayawada: The Jana Sena Party has stepped up preparations for the forthcoming local body elections, targeting a “100 per cent strike rate” and planning to launch its youth wing in all Assembly constituencies on September 2, coinciding with party president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s birthday.
Civil Supplies Minister and Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar said the party had prepared a 30-day action plan and was ready at the constituency, mandal and village levels.
He directed committees to formulate constituency-specific strategies, assess their strengths and weaknesses, consult the cadre and submit detailed reports to the party headquarters.
Coordination committees would function at the state, district and constituency levels, with alliance partners working together, he said. Candidate selection would begin according to party guidelines, taking into account reservations and local political equations.
Manohar recalled that Jana Sena candidates had faced alleged excesses and misuse of official machinery during the 2021 polls, but won two ZPTC, 182 MPTC, 1,209 sarpanch and 4,456 ward member seats. Nearly 1,000 candidates who contested the polls would be honoured, he said.
He said the new youth wing would identify and nurture young leadership under the slogan, “The country comes first”. He urged party workers to strengthen the organisation for 2029, highlight the coalition government’s achievements through positive social media campaigns and maintain alliance unity.
