Jana Sena Leader Demands Apology Over Remarks Against Pawan Kalyan

He also accused Nani of claiming credit for development works in Machilipatnam

VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena leader and Andhra Pradesh Agnikula Kshatriya Welfare and Development Corporation chairman Chilakalapudi Papa Rao on Saturday demanded a public apology from former minister Perni Nani over his alleged remarks against Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.

Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada, Papa Rao accused the YSRC leader of resorting to personal criticism instead of discussing public issues. He alleged that Perni Nani frequently targets Pawan Kalyan during media interactions and claimed that YSRC leaders were unable to accept the growing popularity of the Jana Sena chief and the performance of the coalition government.

Papa Rao criticised Nani’s tenure as transport minister, alleging that APSRTC fares were increased several times and that employees faced delays in receiving provident fund and gratuity dues. He said Nani should review his own political record before criticising the present government.

Referring to the remarks allegedly made by Nani at Gudivada, Papa Rao said Jana Sena strongly objected to the comments and demanded that they be withdrawn immediately.

He also accused Nani of claiming credit for development works in Machilipatnam. According to Papa Rao, projects including Bandar Port development, the Machilipatnam–Repalle railway line, the Gudivada flyover, Vijayawada–Machilipatnam road expansion and port connectivity roads were progressing with the efforts of Machilipatnam MP Balashowry and support from the Centre.

Several Jana Sena leaders and party functionaries attended the press conference.
