KAKINADA: Rajahmundry Central Jail officials did not allow Shakthi Reddy, sister of YSRC MP Midhun Reddy, to tie rakhi to the latter at the Jail on Saturday on the occasion of Rakhi Pournami.
Shakthi Reddy had been accompanied by Tirupati MP M. Gurumurthy to the Central Jail, carrying a box of sweets and a rakhi. However, she could not meet her brother.
However, they allowed Gurumurthy to interact with the jailed MP. Speaking to the media later, Gurumurthy condemned the behaviour of jail authorities. He alleged that the alliance government is deriving a vicarious pleasure by troubling the YSRC leaders.
Former MP M. Bharat also condemned the instance of Shakthi Reddy not being allowed to tie a rakhi to her MP brother.
