Jagan Demands CBI Probe Into Demolitions At Joji Nagar
Speaking to media, he charged that people in high places are involved in the demolitions. He vowed to extend legal assistance to the affected families: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the demolition of houses at Joji Nagar in Vijayawada.
Speaking to media, he charged that people in high places are involved in the demolitions. He vowed to extend legal assistance to the affected families.
Expressing solidarity with residents of Joji Nagar, whose homes have been razed despite a court order granting them relief until December 31, Jagan Mohan Reddy alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, IT minister Nara Lokesh and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath are involved in the demolitions.
The former CM pointed out that 42 families lived in the colony spread over 2.17 acres, which is valued at around ₹150 crore. The families had built their houses after obtaining all necessary permissions and had been paying EMIs on loans raised for constructing their houses.
“Greed of higher-ups in collusion with private players has led to the demolition,”
Stating that only a CBI probe could dig out the truth, Jagan Mohan Reddy said YSRC would provide full legal support to residents who have lived there for over 25 years. He went on to charge Telugu Desam leaders are resorting to land encroachment through litigation across the state.
