Jagan Condemns MPP Poll Violence At Bommanahal
JS leaders from Eluru, West Godavari join YSRC: Reports

VIJAYAWADA: Former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday condemned what he termed “undemocratic and violent acts” by the ruling Telugu Desam Party during the recent Mandal Praja Parishad (MPP) election at Bommanahal in Rayadurgam Assembly constituency.
Meeting Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) members at the YSR Congress Party central office at Tadepalli, Jagan Mohan Reddy mentioned detailed accounts of alleged intimidation, assaults on YSRC MPTCs and forcible capture of the MPP post.
The YSRC chief described this as a serious assault on democracy when elections must be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner. Assuring the affected leaders of support, he said YSRC will take up the matter with the Election Commission and, if required, approach the AP High Court.
Jagan Mohan Reddy inquired about details of the attack on Rayadurgam YSRC in-charge Mettu Govinda Reddy on the polling day.
In a parallel development, YSRC received a boost as some leaders of the Jana Sena Party joined the party in Y.S. Jagan’s presence. Those who switched sides included Bandaru Ganga Suresh and Anem Subhash from Chintalapudi in Eluru district, and Jaddu Damodar from Palakollu in West Godavari district.
