Jagan Challenges EC over Alleged Obstruction of YSRCP Candidates’ Nominations
Jagan said the party was prepared to place the list before the High Court and the Supreme Court, if necessary, to ensure justice for its candidates

Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday challenged the Election Commission to ensure that genuine party candidates are allowed to file their nominations for the ongoing local body elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing a press conference, Jagan said the YSRCP would submit the complete list of its candidates, along with the A and B forms issued by the party, to the Election Commission and demand that eligible candidates be allowed to contest.
He said the party was prepared to place the list before the High Court and the Supreme Court, if necessary, to ensure justice for its candidates.
Questioning the TDP-led coalition government headed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said the ruling party should seek votes by highlighting its achievements if it had genuinely worked for the people.
“Is it democracy to prevent candidates from filing nominations and conduct elections with fake nominations?” he asked.
Jagan urged the Election Commission to uphold fairness and ensure that the electoral process was conducted transparently, allowing genuine candidates to contest the elections.
