Jagan Assures Support To Lankapalli Farmers
The farmers told Jagan that their families had been cultivating the lands since 1952, but their rights were being ignored.
Vijayawada:YSR Congress president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assured farmers of all necessary support to protect their rights over nearly 600 acres of Lanka lands.
Several farmers from Lankapalli village in Pamidimukkala mandal of Krishna district, led by former Pamarru MLA Kamle Anil and others, met Jagan at the YSR Congress party office in Tadepalli on Wednesday and sought his support over a dispute involving the 600 acres.
The farmers told Jagan that their families had been cultivating the lands since 1952, but their rights were being ignored. They alleged that revenue officials, at the behest of local Telugu Desam leaders, had issued pattadar passbooks in the names of some TDP leaders and their alleged benamis. They urged the YSR Congress leadership to seek an inquiry into the matter and stand by them until justice was delivered.
