Vijayawada:Former chief minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday has called upon party leaders and cadre to prepare for the ensuing local body elections, claiming that anti-incumbency against the coalition government was growing.
Addressing party leaders and cadre, Jagan Mohan Reddy said the anger among various sections of people against the coalition government would translate into votes. He called on the party to fight what he described as malpractices by the government led by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
He alleged that the coalition government had failed on all fronts and expressed confidence that the YSRC would win if the elections were held in a free and fair manner. He said the party should contest every seat and leave no scope for manipulation.
Jagan Mohan Reddy asked party leaders to field strong candidates and work to ensure contests in all seats. He said the party would oppose unanimous elections and asked MLA aspirants to work for the victory of their candidates.
He also asked the party’s legal cell to remain active in dealing with alleged atrocities, harassment and other coercive methods.
