Jagan accuses CM of bluff and bluster; Naidu 'failed' to fulfill poll promises

Despite taking loans heavily, the TD government is not able to implement welfare schemes, he said and wondered what was happening to all the money

Vijayawada: YSRC leader and former chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy made a frontal attack on chief minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday, accusing him of bluff and bluster and not implementing the over 145 promises the Telugu Desam alliance had made to the people in the 2024 hustings.

Jagan Reddy accused Naidu of indulging in blatant lies, destructive policy decisions, corruption, financial vandalism and cheating in the last few months of his governance of the state. “The resentment among the people and the voices of protest against Naidu’s rule are growing, ringing danger bells to the TD-led alliance government," Jagan Reddy said.
On his chances of attending the assembly session, Jagan Reddy said, “The Speaker has to reply to the court. Unless we, the voice of the opposition, are not given due time to speak, the process of democracy in AP would remain under threat.”
The former chief minister said Naidu kept bluffing and spreading lies on the state’s finances, as also on the implementation of welfare schemes, governance, growth rate and social welfare. Jagan Reddy gave a blow-by-blow account, backed with data, and exposed the “lies” of Naidu that were “being propagated to cheat the people.”
The YSRC leader asserted, “This was foretold by me during electioneering -- that Chandrababu Naidu has been making false and impracticable promises.” He cited the history of Naidu who has “always ditched the people” when it came to fulfilling the poll promises.
Jagan Reddy asked, “As of now, Naidu has borrowed or applied for loans to the tune of Rs 1.45 lakh crore. While he is carrying the baggage of all the unfulfilled promises, where did this amount land? This is the question he has to answer.”
Contrasting Naidu’s seven month period from June to December, Jagan Reddy said AP showed a negative growth rate vis-a-vis state revenue. “The revenue was Rs 50,804 crore during the 2023-24 fiscal upto March last year, this this fell to Rs 50,544 crore in the corresponding period this fiscal. Naidu’s claim of 13 per cent growth rate for AP under his dispensation is absurd.”
All these days, they have been spreading lies that Jagan has borrowed Rs 14 lakh crore, but in their own budget, they brought it down to Rs 6. 46 crore, Jagan Reddy said.
He said, “Chandrababu Naidu had given 143 promises during the 2024 electioneering covering all sections of people, but he failed to implement these. On the other side, he did away with our welfare schemes much to the ire of students, youth, women, farmers and others.”
"Instead of creating jobs, Naidu has retrenched and relocated ward and village secretariat employees and many others. The regular employees were also cheated on their dues and allowances and Naidu is not paying the interim relief too,” Jagan Reddy said.
