IVRS Survey on Teachers to Ascertain Parents’ Satisfaction Levels

Normally IVRS surveys are being done by the government on the welfare activities and also on the performance of the MLAs and other leaders, so as to get feedback, by calling ordinary people over the phone.

Andhra Pradesh: The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) Survey on the efficiency and regularity of government school teachers raised many an eyebrow among the teaching community on Wednesday.

Normally IVRS surveys are being done by the government on the welfare activities and also on the performance of the MLAs and other leaders, so as to get feedback, by calling ordinary people over the phone.

However, the state government this time decided to have feedback from parents on teachers’ punctuality and the quality of teaching in government schools across the state.

Teachers are not impressed. They ask why this fuss. “We are monitored everyday about attendance and our times of arrival and exit, and would lose half day CL if they failed to be on full duty,” they say.

Under the process, parents are being contacted directly through IVRS (Interactive Voice Response System) calls to share their opinions. The calls began on Wednesday evening from the official number 8645319491 (AP Government Feedback).

The government stated that the feedback collected through this process would be used to monitor school functioning and improve the overall quality of education in government schools. During the call, parents are asked to respond to key questions by pressing numbers on their phone:

Questions go like this:

*Are teachers reporting to schools on time?

– Press 1 if yes

– Press 2 if no

* Are teachers regularly teaching your children?

– Press 1 if yes

– Press 2 if no
