Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed the power officials to integrate Artificial Intelligence with the humidity percentage in the soil and groundwater data to attain more accurate estimates of the power required in the summer season, basing on the weather reports.
This will help the officials understand the quantity of power required for the agriculture sector, he said.
Addressing the power officials, Naidu said that the officials to reduce power cuts during the upcoming summer season. Identify the reasons behind the power cuts and try to resolve them, he suggested.
The CM said that the officials should hold survey over the performance of the employees just as they are collecting public opinion on the power department services. Discoms should also reduce the wastage in power transmission for which Naidu suggested that metres should be installed at substations and feeders.
Energy audit should also be done, he said.
However, he asked the officials not to arrange metres for the agricultural connections.

Last Tuesday, the grid peak demand was registered at a record high of 12,260 MW in the state. In January, the maximum demand was recorded at 11,807 MW.
