IndiGo To Launch Vijayawada-Varanasi, Kolkata Flights From Aug. 13
State tourism, culture and cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh unveiled the new routes at his camp office in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
Vijayawada: Air connectivity from Vijayawada will improve with IndiGo launching direct flight services to Varanasi and Kolkata from August 13. The flights will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
State tourism, culture and cinematography minister Kandula Durgesh unveiled the new routes at his camp office in Vijayawada on Tuesday. He said the services would reduce travel time and boost tourism, pilgrimage, trade and investment.
According to IndiGo, flight 6E 6502 will depart Vijayawada at 6.20 pm and reach Varanasi at 8.15 pm before continuing to Kolkata, arriving at 10.15 pm.
The return flight, 6E 6501, will leave Kolkata at 2.10 pm, halt at Varanasi and reach Vijayawada at 5.50 pm.
The minister said the new services would improve connectivity to the spiritual city of Varanasi and the historic city of Kolkata while creating fresh opportunities for tourism, commerce and regional economic growth.
IndiGo AP sales manager Mohit Krishna and Vijayawada assistant manager (operations) Subhani attended the programme.
